My Scalp Reset Routine

I’ve become much more selective about what I use on wash days, especially when my scalp feels heavy or my hair looks flatter than usual. Instead of piling on styling products afterwards, I prefer to start with a more focused cleanse and then pay attention to the lengths separately.
I also like routines where each product has a clear role, because that makes it easier to understand what is actually working for me.
1. Neutrogena T/Sal Shampoo
I reach for Neutrogena T/Sal when my scalp feels like it needs a deeper clean than my everyday shampoo can give. The bottle clearly highlights salicylic acid and scalp build-up control, which is exactly what made me curious about it in the first place. I usually concentrate it around the roots, massage gently, and make sure I rinse thoroughly. What I notice most is that my scalp feels fresher afterwards and my roots feel less weighed down. I treat it more like a targeted wash-day product than something I would automatically use every single time, and that approach works better for me.
2. Garnier Hair Filler + Bonding
After a stronger cleansing step, I like following with something focused on the lengths, and the Garnier Fructis Hair Filler + Bonding treatment fits naturally into that part of my routine. The packaging describes it as an inner fibre repair treatment, so I use it when my hair feels rougher, more processed or simply less smooth than I would like. I work it through the mid-lengths and ends rather than the scalp. What I like is how straightforward it feels to use: it gives my wash day a more complete feel without making the routine unnecessarily complicated.
3. Nizoral Anti-Dandruff Shampoo
Nizoral is the product I keep for more specific scalp days. The packaging identifies it as an anti-dandruff shampoo with ketoconazole, so I use it according to the directions rather than treating it like a standard cosmetic shampoo. I find that keeping it separate from my ordinary wash routine makes sense, especially because I prefer not to overcomplicate scalp care. On the days I use it, I focus on the scalp and keep the rest of my routine simple.
For me, the biggest difference comes from choosing products according to what my scalp and lengths actually need that day. I don’t use all three automatically every time, but having them available makes my wash routine feel much more intentional.
